The S.S. River Clyde was run aground at "V" Beach on the 25th April, 1915. Note the square section removed along the hull of the ship. This is where the Dublin Fusiliers disembarked to run up the Beach. Many were drowned and killed when just disembarking. Of the 1100 men of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers who took part in the landing, only 11 survived Gallipoli. back to top
